Acceptable Use Policy

1. Why this exists

GIMLabs is shared infrastructure. This policy keeps it safe, fast and lawful for everyone. It applies to you and to everyone you give access to, and it forms part of our Terms of Service.

Most of this is common sense. If you are using GIMLabs to do ground investigation work for your own business, you will never come near these lines.

2. What you must not do

Break the law or other people’s rights

• Use GIMLabs for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful.
• Upload data you do not have the right to use, or that infringes someone else’s intellectual property, confidentiality or privacy.
• Upload content that is abusive, defamatory or obscene.

Attack or undermine the platform

• Upload viruses, malware or other harmful code.
• Probe, scan or test the security of GIMLabs without our written permission. If you think you have found a vulnerability, please tell us at support@gimlabs.io and we will thank you for it.
• Try to access another customer’s data, or any part of the Services you have not been given access to.
• Interfere with the performance of the Services, or get round any technical limit we apply.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or copy the Services, except where the law says we cannot stop you.

Misuse your licences

• Share a login between people. Every person needs their own account.
• Use scripts or other workarounds to keep more people working at once than you have licences for.
• Resell, rent or sublicense GIMLabs, or use it to run a service for third parties, without a written agreement with us.

Misuse the data

• Scrape or bulk-extract data from GIMLabs by automated means other than our official API and export tools.
• Use GIMLabs to build or benchmark a competing product.
• Use our API outside its published limits, or share your API keys outside your organisation.

3. Sharing with your clients and suppliers

GIMLabs includes features for sharing data with people outside your organisation, such as client portals and supplier submissions. Using those features as intended is welcome and is not reselling.

You are responsible for who you invite, what you share with them, and for having your client’s permission where you need it.

4. If something goes wrong

If we believe this policy is being broken, we will normally contact your administrators first and give you the chance to put it right.

We may suspend the affected user or account straight away, without notice, where we reasonably believe it is needed to protect the Services, other customers or anyone’s data, or where the law requires it. We will tell you what we have done and why as soon as we can.

Serious or repeated breaches may lead to us ending your subscription under our Terms of Service.

5. Reporting a concern

If you see GIMLabs being misused, or you think an account has been compromised, email support@gimlabs.io.
